8 Days / 7 Nights
Day 1 – Departure & Border Crossing
Guests are invited to rendezvous at the Smiling Seahorse Dive Center between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Here, rental gear is prepared for those in need, and final paperwork is completed. At 2:00 PM, the group heads to Thai immigration to obtain exit stamps before boarding the MV Smiling Seahorse. After clearing Myanmar immigration aboard the boat in Kawthaung, the vessel sets sail. At sunset, a welcome ceremony introduces the crew, followed by a delicious dinner to end the first day at sea.
Day 2 – South Twin Island
The adventure begins at South Twin Island, located on the edge of the Mergui Archipelago. Known for its crystal-clear waters and dramatic granite boulder formations, this site offers encounters with ghost pipefish, seahorses, frogfish—and if lucky, a majestic manta ray. The day ends with an exciting night dive featuring dwarf squid, sugar crabs, cowrie snails, and colorful nudibranchs.
Day 3 – Shark Cave & Local Culture
Divers enjoy four dives at Shark Cave, a favorite for its marine diversity and dramatic underwater landscape. Expect to see eagle rays, grey reef sharks, nurse sharks sleeping in their caves, stingrays, frogfish, and mantis shrimp. In the afternoon, there's a chance to visit a sandy beach and possibly a local fishing village.
Day 4 – Black Rock
After an overnight crossing, the boat arrives at Black Rock, one of Myanmar’s premier dive sites. This remote, open-ocean pinnacle is known for strong currents and big pelagic sightings. Divers may encounter schools of manta rays during what's known as the unofficial "Manta Festival." Though sightings can't be guaranteed, mantas are frequent visitors to this site.
Day 5 – North Twin Pinnacle
Today’s dives take place around North Twin Island, where divers often encounter manta rays, eagle rays, and even resting leopard sharks on the sandy patches between granite boulders. Huge sea fans conceal a variety of macro wonders for keen-eyed photographers.
Day 6 – Seafan Forest & Western Rocky
Morning dives are held at Seafan Forest, a site characterized by towering boulders and swaying sea fans. This area is known for barracuda, batfish, and hunting tuna—and has even delivered rare whale shark encounters. In the afternoon, two more dives take place at Western Rocky, offering vibrant marine life and dynamic topography.
Day 7 – Western Rocky
A full day is dedicated to exploring the famous Western Rocky dive site. Four dives, including an unforgettable night dive, are offered. Highlights include a tunnel that runs through the island at 20 meters deep, teeming with lobsters, crabs (sponge, spider, anemone), harlequin shrimp, frogfish, and seahorses. Larger visitors like whale sharks and bowmouth guitarfish may also appear.
Day 8 – Volcano Dive & Return
The final dive takes place inside a submerged volcano, home to blacktip reef sharks, seahorses, and exotic tropical fish like comet longfins, pineapplefish, and shaded batfish. After the dive, the vessel returns to Kawthaung, where guests can enjoy souvenir shopping and a celebratory local beer.
