Norberto Diver

Horta Harbour

Norberto Diver is right in front of the pontoon with their boats in the harbor. The dive centre’s location is ideal for a great diving adventure in the Azores with more than 20 different dive spots around the islands of Faial and Pico as well as some offshore spots such as “Princess Alice Bank” and a few banks in the channel between these two islands “Baixa da Barca” and “Baixa do Sul” within easy reach.

Daily diving spots are chosen just before departure taking into account the diver's experience, preferences and weather and sea conditions. The dive centre and friendly crew are very flexible and will try their hardest to make your diving adventure an unforgettable one. The dive master briefs all divers about the chosen dive spot, its marine biodiversity and the necessary measures to minimise the impact of scuba diving on the natural environment on the boat just before the beginning of the dive.

Before going to the offshore dive spots, they require a “check-dive”, which consists in a normal coastal dive for the dive guides to see if you are able to go, and also so you can check your equipment or the equipment that you are renting.

Norberto Diver has a fleet of diving and whale watching boats. Most dive sites are reached from ribs that comfortably accommodate up to 6 divers. Some of the dives in offshore locations will be done from the dive centre’s catamaran depending on the number of divers on the trip.

Princess Alice Bank by 12 metre long catamaran, located 45 miles southwest of Faial Island, 5 to 6 hours journey - 2 dives

Blue shark dives are around 20 miles south of Faial Island, 3 hours journey - 1 dive

Notices & Recommendations:

Trips to Princess Alice and Blue Shark dives are subject to weather conditions and may be amended, postponed or cancelled dependant on local weather.
Our wetsuit recommendation between June and October is semi-dry 5mm/7mm and if you want to venture to the Azores between November and May you will need a semi-dry wetsuit 7mm/10mm but please note that most of the dive centers are closed during this period.
