The Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino is a colourful, charming and fun resort overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Sea. It’s the perfect base for holiday makers drawn to the vibrant island of Bonaire with its world class scuba diving sites. Explore the pristine waters and colourful coral reefs that surround this wonderful resort where you will be blessed with sights of vibrant fish including sergeant majors, butterfly fish, parrotfish, angel fish and butterfly fish. Larger pelagics such as dolphins, turtles and sharks can also be seen as well as beautiful soft and hard corals including gorgonians fans or fern-like black coral.

This friendly and informal resort offers guests 126 spacious oceanfront and garden view guestrooms and suites decorated in bright, tropical colours with private balconies overlooking the Caribbean Sea inviting you to relax after a hard day’s diving.

The hotel boasts two dining rooms, the Calabas restaurant and the Chibi Chibi restaurant and bar as well as the beach bar Flamingo Balashi. These beachfront restaurants with al fresco dining offer you a wide variety of options including fresh seafood, local cuisine, American dishes, buffet style breakfast and dinners and an a la carte menu.

Divi Dive Bonaire is a PADI 5 star accredited centre and is the island’s oldest and best known dive operator. Located on the resort’s grounds and just 5 metres from the house reef you can dive 24 hours a day if you wish. The fully qualified dive team will ensure your experience of the waters surrounding Bonaire is a memorable one. You can swim alongside colourful fish and exotic marine life and explore the amazing multi-coloured soft and hard corals. Bonaire’s entire coastline has been designated as a marine sanctuary and you will be able to experience first-hand the pristine beauty the island has to offer.

Fabulous shore diving is available 24 hours a day from the Flamingo beach or dive dock so you can walk straight in from the beach and enjoy great house reef diving day and night. The centre’s modern dive boats allow you to access the various sites scattered around the island with two morning dives and one afternoon dive. Night dives can be arranged on request. Divi Dive Bonaire runs daily boat dives to Bonaire's best reefs and provides superior dive training and certification.

This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Open Water Referral

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science its just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

Medic First Aid (EFR)

First Aid course - To be completed with Rescue Diver Course unless you already hold a first certificate (please bring this to the dive centre if you wish to complete the course).

This course is to teach you how to administer First Aid to a person. Various skills will be learnt such as CPR, types of injury and bandaging.

PADI Online Open Water Diver

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The Online PADI Open Water Course was recently launched by PADI and enables you to complete the theoretical training and knowledge development sessions online and then take the final exam and complete the confined and open water dives in resort.

This is an exclusive opportunity we run with Inmo Divers in Dahab. The cost of the online section is 120USD and can be completed within on the PADI E-Learning website .

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science it’s just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

Explore deeper dive sites with confidence at depths down to 40 metres/130ft. Learn to manage your gas supply, go over buddy contact procedures, and buoyancy control.

Your training starts by reviewing reasons for deep diving and how important it is to know your personal limits. During four deep dives with your instructor, you’ll go over:

PADI Underwater Navigator

Fine-tune your underwater observation skills and learn to use your compass more accurately. This course may count towards college credit, ask your instructor.

You’ll learn the tools of the trade, including navigation using natural clues and by following compass headings. During three scuba dives, you’ll practice:

PADI Underwater Naturalist

Get a better understanding about the local ecosystem and the differences between terrestrial and aquatic worlds. See new things, even in the most familiar dive sites.

Through class discussions and on two scuba dives, you’ll learn:

PADI Search and Recovery Diver

Retrieve lost items that have fallen overboard or over a dock. Learn effective swimming patterns and using a lift bag for heavy objects.

Gathering information and resources, then carefully planning a search are the first important steps you learn. During four scuba dives you’ll practice:

PADI Night Diver

The underwater world changes as day creatures retire & nocturnal organisms emerge. If you've wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, enrol in the PADI Night Diver Specialty course.

Scuba diving at night teaches you to focus on what you can see in your light’s beam, on controlling your buoyancy by feel, on staying with your buddy and on paying attention to details you may overlook during the day. During three night dives, you’ll practice:

PADI Multilevel Diver

Extend your underwater time, learn what multilevel diving is and how to calculate for multilevel dives. Plan and execute a two-level and three-level scuba dive using the eRDPML.

You'll review decompression theory as it relates to multilevel diving and dive computer models, and plan multilevel dives using the eRDPML. During the first of your two multilevel dives, you’ll plan and execute a two-level dive, and on the second dive, you’ll complete a three-level scuba dive.

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy

Observe aquatic life without disturbing their surroundings. Improve the buoyancy skills you learned as a new diver and elevate them to the next level.
