Volivoli Beach Resort is a boutique oceanfront resort located on the Suncoast of Viti Levu, Fiji, near the town of Rakiraki. Set on a hillside overlooking the renowned Bligh Waters, the resort is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and panoramic ocean views, offering a peaceful escape with direct access to some of the South Pacific’s best diving and marine life.

The resort features a range of ocean-view rooms and private villas, including family villas and luxury options with private plunge pools. Accommodation combines contemporary comfort with Fijian-inspired design, offering spacious interiors, air conditioning, private balconies and uninterrupted sea views in a relaxed tropical setting.

Volivoli is especially renowned as Fiji’s premier dive resort, with an on-site PADI dive centre and access to more than 90 dive sites in the Bligh Water region, often referred to as the “Soft Coral Capital of the World”. Guests can explore vibrant coral reefs, dramatic walls and abundant marine life, while additional activities include snorkelling, fishing, paddleboarding, kayaking and cultural village excursions.

Volivoli Beach Resort

Ra Divers is the dedicated dive centre at Volivoli Beach Resort on Fiji’s Viti Levu, situated directly on the shores of the world-famous Bligh Water. Operating in the region since 1990, the fully certified dive training centre provides access to more than 90 dive sites across nine areas, with purpose-built boats reaching sites in as little as 12 minutes. The Bligh Water is renowned for its spectacular soft corals and exceptional marine biodiversity.

The surrounding reefs offer an impressive variety of underwater environments, from colourful coral walls and pinnacles to macro sites, wrecks and three house reefs. Divers can encounter more than 390 species of coral and around 2,300 fish species, while the shallow house reefs are home to seahorses, pipefish, frogfish, nudibranchs, octopus and other fascinating macro life. Nearby wrecks include the MV Ovalau II and Papuan Explorer.

Ra Divers offers training from first-time divers through to professional-level courses, supported by an experienced team of nine instructors. The modern dive shop features four high-pressure compressors, two Nitrox membrane plants, more than 300 aluminium cylinders and facilities for DIN and yoke systems. It also supports CCR, SCR and sidemount diving, with dedicated rebreather cylinders, oxygen and diluent supplies. A 14-workstation camera room with charging facilities provides an excellent base for underwater photographers.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge Development (online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving – just the first three of five sections of the Open Water Diver course.

  • Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills – just the first three of five dives of the Open Water Diver course

  • Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore – just two of four dives of the Open Water Diver course.

The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional (or required) scuba dives, you’ll:

  • Discuss managing oxygen exposure.

  • Practice analysing oxygen content in your scuba tank.

  • Set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.
