This once-in-a-lifetime experience is available on the island of Kailua-Kona (otherwise known as Big Island) and reveals the world-class clarity and spectacular beauty of Hawaii's night sky. This is a fully-guided tour where you will learn about the island's fascinating history, culture and geography - all whilst immersed in breathtaking panoramas and spectacular beauty. The tour includes:

Educational fun while learning about Hawaiian star navigation
The extraordinary spectacle of watching an unforgettable sunset at the top of Maunakea

A wonderful star show from the visitor centre
A chance to gaze through an 11" Celestron telescope and a Stellina digital telescope

Additional Information

Suitability Due to the high altitude, this tour is not advised for those with respiratory, circulatory or heart conditions, pregnancy, or poor health.
Altitude If you plan to scuba dive, do not plan to go to the summit within 24 hours after you dive due to the altitude.
Children No children under the age of 13 are allowed on the tour.
Difficulty Level There is minimal walking on the tour. Guests will be transported by four-wheel drive to the summit.
