Gangga Island Resort is a perfect place to kick back, relax and unwind. Off the beaten track Gangga Island is located on the tip of Sulawesi, north of the Manado coast, only and hour’s drive from Manado International Airport and a fifteen minute boat ride across the strait this beautiful island benefits from diverse and unusual sea life from both the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The resort itself lies on the southern tip of Gangga Island making this tropical gem an idyllic location offering something for everybody from couples, snorkelers, divers, honeymooners and beach lovers it really caters for all. This beautifully designed boutique resort blends in with its natural surroundings perfectly, built under shady palms and encircled by lush green tropical gardens that run directly to a pure white sandy beach with a jungle covered hill backdrop, you really have landed in paradise.

This intimate and beautiful resort offers 15 beachfront wooden bungalows, with a total of 30 rooms all featuring an en-suite bathroom, high ceilings and an airy feel. Designed in the local Minahasa style each bungalow has a spacious veranda presenting magnificent views of the beach and ocean. Each room has its own beach Bali bed just outside the bungalow to give a private beach feel. There are two open air restaurants, the main one serves Mediterranean and local Indonesian dishes and the Bamboo Restaurant has a fresh fish barbeque twice a week as well as a local Polynesian style music band. The Coconut bar is open all day long serving non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages as well as hot drinks. The perfect way to kick back and relax after a long day’s diving with your favourite cocktail soaking up the romantic atmosphere and sharing your magical underwater experiences.

The resort has direct access to more than 30 world class diving locations offering a wonderful variety of marine life with rare species and pristine reefs. Guests can benefit from the 5* PADI dive centre and the diving sessions organised daily by the highly knowledgably team on-site at Gangga Divers. Truly a divers paradise there are around 85 dive sites within reach by boat including the infamous Bangka Archipelago, Bunaken National Marine Park famous for eagle rays, jackfish, tuna, sharks and turtles and for an extra cost you can join a day trip to the Lembeh Strait. You really will be spoilt for choice when it comes to diving. The 5 wood dive boats are specifically built and designed for Gangga Divers, three have on-board toilets and easy on and off access, all the staff are fully trained to meet any diving need and each boat is stocked with towels, freshwater tanks for cameras, drinking water, hot drinks and snacks.

Gangga Island Resort also offers a myriad of different activities to keep you entertained when you are not diving including beach volleyball, sailing and land excursions to visit Tangkoko Nature Reserve where you can discover the smallest monkeys in the world, the famous Birds of Paradise and climb magnificent volcanoes. For both divers and non-divers the picturesque white sand beach, the large salt-water pool, the traditional spa and the high quality of service at Gangga Island Resort will guarantee a peaceful and relaxing stay.

Gangga Island Resort is home to Gangga Divers, a well-established dive operation with various centres running within Indonesia. Situated on the beach at Gangga Island, this PADI 5* star certified dive centre operates the highest international standards of diving safety along with excellent customer service.

Gangga Divers is run by International instructors, fully qualified dive masters and guides who pride themselves in offering a personalised diving and service to suit divers of all levels and experience. This award winning centre proposes everything from complete beginner courses, through to a full range of PADI scuba diving courses and free nitrox fills. Here you will find an astonishingly rich variety of flora and fauna which will excite divers, especially underwater photographers. Even scientists of marine biology from all over the world come here to study and photograph the waters

Being a member of the North Sulawesi Watersports Association (NSWA), Gangga Island Resort is committed to protecting the local reefs and is involved in conservation and development projects aimed at helping the local communities in the creation of sustainable tourism activities.

The dive centre offers a full range of good, reliable and fully serviced equipment. If you have your own dive gear, the centre has space, with a separate drying area for wetsuits and for you to store your equipment during your stay. There are five fully equipped wooden dive boats to take you out on the daily diving trips, if needed they offer lunch and beverages aboard. The dive crew are experienced and will ensure you are well looked after, tanks and weights are provided upon arrival.

Diving Courses:

All courses include equipment, certification, manuals, English speaking instructor and lunch when diving in Bunaken and Lembeh.



PADI Open Water Referral

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science its just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

PADI Open Water Diver (Inc Equipment)

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

PADI Rescue Diver

Become a Rescue Diver. A great level to be. You will have the skills to aid your fellow divers in an emergency.

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques.
