Traditional Cottages are very spacious and decorated in traditional Minahasa style (wood cabins), each with wide verandahs overlooking the Lembeh Strait. All rooms have twin or double beds. Cottages One, Two, Five and Six are detached with private verandah. Cottages Three A & B are quad rooms, featuring a shared verandah and two bedrooms plus an adjoining air-conditioned sitting room.

Critters@Lembeh is in partnership with Lembeh Resort. Danny Charlton & his wife Angelique Batuna worked together with Alex Rorimpandey and family since early 2002.

Boasting nearly 50,000 combined Lembeh Strait dives, the dive team's infectious enthusiasm will exceed your highest expectations. The guest to guide ratio of 3:1 ensures personal attention that will help you get through most if not all of the critters on your wish lists.

NITROX is available to qualified divers. For those who have yet to experience the benefits of NITROX, the centre offers the PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty course, as well as a full range of other PADI courses for those who wish to increase their diving knowledge and skills.

Critters@Lembeh offers more than six different dive opportunities every day.
Guided early morning house reef dive

Guided night dive at 18:30
Guided late night dive (after 20:00) and self guided house reef dives.

The centre has four spacious, comfortable and efficient dive boats: Alexa, Marisa, Francisca and Athalia and a smaller speed boat used special for charters. Boat trips to the dive sites are generally between five and 15 minutes. Double boat dives are arranged when divers desire sites located further than 20 minutes from the resort.

Centre Information

The Kungkungan Bay Resort dive centre is located on the grounds of the hotel in the heart of Lembeh Strait giving you access to fifty dive sites, all within fifteen minutes of the resort’s private jetty.

With good visibility, minimal currents and clear water, the KBR and the Lembeh Straits is an excellent place to learn to dive or enhance your scuba skills. Why not add to the fun of your holiday with a PADI course? Or, if you have never dived before, come and spend a fun couple of hours Discovering Scuba Diving.

The dive staff at the resort is pretty keen on their underwater photography and they will be very happy to help you get the best shots or answer any questions you might have. They are always delighted to talk about lenses, housings, strobes, cameras and software......

The centre has a full range of Aqualung dive equipment for rent. They also have a wide-range of Scubapro full-length wetsuits in various sizes in 3mm and 5mm thickness.

Early Morning Biting City Trip

This is an excellent early-morning trip where we show you around some local places in the city of Bitung.
This trip departs at 6AM and you will be back in the Resort by 8:00AM so you won’t have to miss the 1st dive!
Itinerary: Kungkungan Bay Resort /Bitung Fish Market /Traditional Market / General Market / Primary school / Kungkungan Bay Resort.

Bitung Fish Market - Every morning, the local fishermen gather here to sell whatever they caught while they were out fishing all night to the hard bargaining wholesalers.

Traditional Market -Everything here starts early in the morning. Local women buying spices are amongst the many things you will see but the scenery is dominated by the bartering between sellers and buyers

Downtown Bitung -We are going to visit a primary school and many of the children will be cheering as soon as you step foot inside the classrooms. It is no problem to take pictures, in fact, the kids will love it!

Minahasa Highland Tour

Every time you visit a country you will see a different kind of people with their own cultures and art. North Sulawesi has been known as ‘The Land Of Smiling People’ and we will prove this to you while we show you around the highlands. Feel the cool mountain air far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We start this trip - where we visit a number of sights - at 8:00AM and the duration is about 9 to 10 hours.

Itinerary: Kungkungan Bay Resort/ Sawangan/ Sumaru Endo/ Lake of Linau/ Rurukan/ Buddhist Temple/ Gardenia Resort (Vulcano view) / Kungkungan Bay Resort.

Sawangan - This place is an ancient Minahasan cemetery which has 144 very special graves called ‘Waruga’. Each Waruga tells it’s own story through beautiful decorations.

Sumaru Endo -A great place to view ‘Lake Tondano’. With the cool mountain air, you can view the hot spring or do some fishing (on Saturday and Sunday)

Manado City Trip

For those who like shopping, we will take you to the other side of North Sulawesi Island. You will visit a souvenir shop but we also have some other interesting places to show you. This trip takes around 6 - 7 hours.

Itinerary: Kungkungan Bay Resort/ Kali Waterfall/ Pineleng/ Souvenir Centre/ Kungkungan Bay Resort

Kali Waterfall - A waterfall with a clear pool at the bottom where you can take a refreshing dip while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Pineleng - From this view point you can take some nice scenic photo’s of Manado bay with Bunaken Island in the background

Souvenir Shop - In this shop you will be able to buy unique handicrafts and souvenirs to take home with you.

Manado Buddhist Temple - This is an old - and also the main - Buddhist temple in Manado City. No pictures inside please. (You might be asked to leave a small donation to the temple, so carry some small notes with you)

Tangkoko Jungle Tour

This tour is perfect to do on your last day when you are off-gassing for your flight back home on the following day, as we leave the resort at 1:30 PM - so you will still be able to do the 1st dive!!!
On this trip we take you to Tangkoko Duasudara Nature Reserve where you can see a variety of wildlife.
One of the highlights of this trip is the nocturnal ‘Tarsier’ (Tarsius Spectrum), a tiny monkey, endemic to Nortern Sulawesi. The total body length of this little creature is approx 10cm with a body weight of little over 100 grams.
With some luck you can even encounter Black Macaques - a larger monkey with no tail - , KusKus, Hornbills - the largest birds living in Tangkoko - and lots of other flora and fauna.
The staff will bring bottled water, fruit and some insect repellent might you need.

The Lembeh Resort is surrounded by lush tropical gardens and blends perfectly into the landscape.

The resort opened in December 2002 as a small resort with an initial three guest cottages. Today, the resort boasts 14 cottages and plans to add a spa, gazebo and honeymoon suite to complete the complex.

The Restaurant & Bar, centrally located on the upper level of the main building with beautiful views, is open from 7am until 10.30pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast and lunch is normally a buffet, and dinner is a-la-carte, where the chefs prepare a wide selection of international & Indonesian cuisine catering to all tastes. The chefs will happily do their utmost to accommodate any special requests and dietary requirements. At the bar guests can enjoy a bottle of wine from the selection, sip a refreshing cocktail or simply have a nice cold Bintang beer. Staff are more than happy to also serve drinks around the pool area so guests can make the most of the beautiful views.

The recreational options at the resort include hours of indulgence in the resort's spa or in the fresh water swimming pool enjoying the stunning views across the Lembeh Strait. you can also take advantage of a full range of land-based excursions on offer ranging from a short 1.5 hour tour of the local village to the full day tour of the Minahasan Highlands.

Guests staying at the Lembeh Resort can access around 40 dive sites around the area and benefit from the PADI centre Critters@Lembeh which is located on site organising daily snorkelling and diving sessions.
