Nautilus Under Sea

The Nautilus Under Sea offers fabulous trips around the Socorro and Guadalupe to take in the variety of pelagic animals resident in the area. Socorro is highly recommended for those with a passion for big stuff.

The research Nautilus Under Sea was built in Florida in 1968 for Perry Oceanographic and was used for twenty years as a submarine support vessel. In 1990 the vessel was modified to include six new double and twin, one quad and one premium cabin built with facilities that surpass all exceptions, to accommodate 19 passengers.

Quad

The quad stateroom is located on the main deckwith two sets of bunk beds to accomodate 4 people.

Premium Cabin

There is a large premium suite on the upper deck which can be configured into two beds or one large bed. The premium suite also has plenty of storage space and easy access to the hot tub.

Lower Deck Double/Twin Cabin

There are 6 staterooms on the lower deck, all with windows. Rooms are available only as double occupancy with bunk beds.

Main Deck Double / Twin Cabin

There is one double ADA suite located on the main deck which features a private ensuite bathroom as well as direct access to the dive deck, salon, bar and dining area. This accomodation is disabled friendly, making it suitable for those with physical handicaps.

For a once in a lifetime trip Nautilus offers 6 days on the Guadalupe itinerary that consists of diving with over 120 great white sharks in crystal clear waters. It is important to note this is a natural interaction with great white sharks and they are not baited. It is not just the sheer number of sharks seen here but also the fantastic visibility enjoyed - usually 100–125 foot visibility. Guadalupe is home to at least 235 individually identified animals and we are still counting!

The Under Sea is a beautiful ship, full of character and history. Formerly the Undersea Hunter, this famous little ship is the newest addition to Nautilus Liveaboards has undergone 2 massive refits, including stretching the hull by 20 feet and the addition of our requisite hot tub. She is a beauty! The variety of staterooms and suites accommodate 19 guests, all with ensuite bathrooms and WiFi. All meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included in the cost and the onboard bar serves beer, wine and other alcohol at very reasonable prices.
