Route Options

Cocos Islands are not to missed the rocky pinnacles are beacons for big animals and big action. Schooling hammerheads, countless white-tip sharks, mantas, tuna and even whale sharks.

The Okeanos Aggressor I offers 10 night and a few 8 night itineraries around Cocos Island departing from Puntarenas where the 300 mile journey begins. The journey takes approximately 30 to 36 hours to get to the island. Throughout the trip, dives will be done from large dive tenders with most of the sites having mild currents attracting plenty of large marine life.

The main attractions in Cocos are the hammerhead sharks, rays, mantas, turtles and large schools of fish with the occasional sighting of whale sharks, marlin and bottle-nose dolphins. The ocean floor is a volcanic rock and most of the action takes place 15 to 30 meters down where the visibility is between 24 to 30 meters.

Special Sightings - Whale Sharks, mating Eagle Rays, Sail Fish, mating White Tip Sharks, False Killer Whales.

Cocos Island is a dive location where divers will expect to see large pelagic fish like huge schools of hammerhead sharks. Most of the dives done are close to surrounding rocks and islands as this is where the best sightings will be found.

The Okeanos Aggressor II offers 10 night itineraries with the occasional 8 night itinerary around the Cocos Islands. Divers should be comfortable diving in stronger currents and open water conditions with thermodines before going on the Wind Dancer. There are up to 5 dives per day and diving is conducted from large dive tenders. Cocos Island is essentially a huge mountain starting thousands of meters below the surface and sticking out as an impressive island with steep cliffs and little island groups. The extremely wet climate and oceanic character gives Cocos a character that is not shared with either the Galapagos or any of the other islands in this part of the world.

10 days on board the Okeanos Aggressor

If you’re looking for a tour operator who is efficient, knowledgeable and super organised, Marcelina , Ultimate Diving is the place to go! Pre-trip, nothing was too much trouble, and the trip itself? Amazing. Every little detail was taken care of, and of course, the diving was incredible.

Amy S

Okeanos Aggressor followed by Arenal Volcano & Monteverde Cloud Forest Tour

Please find enclosed a small token of our appreciation for the organisation of the trip to Cocos Island. The whole trip went without a hitch. Every bus appeared on time, every hotel was expecting us, clean and comfortable and all the guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Without exception though, was Okeanos Aggressor. The boat, crew, food and accommodation were first class and to be recommended to everyone and anyone. The diving lived to up expectations (although the crew reckoned it was only average, so another trip could be on the cards). The weather was also exceptional as we had calm conditions all time and very little rain. I could go on and on but just want to thank you once more for an exceptionally well organised trip and would (will) certainly recommend Ultimate Diving to all.

Mr Moss and Club

7 nights on-board the Okeanos Aggressor

We had a really good time, the crew on the boat were fantastic, the food was amazing and the diving was superb, a lucky combination of all on a liveaboard. On our check dive we had mantas, schools of hammerheads and dolphins. Other sightings included tiger and Galapagos sharks, a phenomenal experience! After the first dive and seeing so many sharks, we thought it was quite nice and almost took them for granted. The diving here was spectacular. The boat was not glamorous but very clean and comfortable. The cabins were of reasonable size with a double and a single bunk allowing for extra storage space. Towels were changed every couple of days and after dives you get a guide waiting for you with a nice hot towel and great snacks.
