Alami Alor Dive Resort

An intimate oceanfront dive retreat in remote Alor, offering personalised service and access to one of Indonesia’s richest marine ecosystems.

Alami Alor is a boutique dive and snorkel resort located on the remote and scenic Alor Island in eastern Indonesia, offering guests an intimate and personalised escape in one of the region’s most biodiverse marine environments. Nestled along the volcanic shoreline of Kalabahi Bay amidst lush tropical forest, the resort has been purpose-built for underwater enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, with a focus on scuba diving, snorkelling and underwater photography.

Accommodation at Alami Alor consists of seven spacious, waterfront bungalows set along the shoreline, each accessed via a private path leading to a hardwood terrace and ocean-front seating area. Inside, rooms feature full glass ocean-facing frontage, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, comfortable bed configurations and open-air en-suite bathrooms with hot water rain showers offering views over the tropical canopy.

The resort’s communal area reflects a relaxed, open-air tropical style where the fresh ocean breeze flows freely. Guests can unwind by the infinity pool with fantastic sunset views over Kalabahi Bay or enjoy meals served family-style in the dining room. Meals feature a choice of Western and Indonesian breakfasts, home-style lunches and dinners prepared using local, organic ingredients, and the resort can cater for dietary requirements including vegetarian and vegan options.

Alami Alor’s on-site dive and snorkel centre offers flexible dive packages with options including guided morning and afternoon boat dives as well as unlimited unguided diving on the house reef. The marine environment around Alor is part of the Coral Triangle and is renowned for its spectacular coral gardens, steep walls, muck-diving sites and rich biodiversity with occasional sightings of pelagic species such as dolphins, hammerhead sharks and manta rays.

The resort’s intimate size typically hosting no more than 14 guests and personalised service ensure a friendly atmosphere where staff focus on tailored experiences, sharing local knowledge and fostering social interaction around meals and excursions. Whether staying for diving, snorkelling, photography or simply island relaxation, Alami Alor presents a unique and memorable wilderness holiday in one of Indonesia’s most pristine settings.
