Agulhas House And Diving

Agulhas House & Diving offers a relaxed and welcoming retreat in Umkomaas, perfectly positioned for exploring the world-renowned Aliwal Shoal. Combining historic charm with a fully equipped dive centre, it provides a seamless experience for both adventure and relaxation. Guests can enjoy comfortable accommodation alongside unforgettable reef, wreck, and shark diving encounters.

Centrally located in the charming village of Umkomaas along the subtropical KwaZuku-Natal coastline, the welcoming dive retreat of Agulhas House and Diving has many features that make this place special, but none more so than its incredible position to one of the world's most coveted shark diving sites, Aliwal Shoal. Experience the underwater thrill of oceanic blacktip sharks, hammerhead sharks and ragged tooth sharks cruising through the spectacular Shoal, where the marine life is as diverse as it is plentiful, or visit during the months of December to March for an unforgettable adrenaline-filled encounter with Tiger Sharks in open waters - no cage! Promising a one-of-a-kind underwater experience, coupled with superb hospitality, this dedicated dive resort has everything you need under one roof and offers the perfect package for unforgettable adventure.

A peaceful location set back from the road, the house takes its design from Italian architecture with accommodation set amidst lush and landscaped gardens. Each of the en-suite rooms at Agulhas House and Diving is tastefully decorated in neutral tones and can be made up for single, twin/double or family occupancy; all featuring air-conditioning, a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property for all guests.

The large, c-shaped swimming pool forms the centrepiece of the lodge with plenty of sun loungers and chill-out areas - the perfect place to kick-back and unwind in the South African sunshine after a morning of adventure. Al-fresco dining takes place under the cover of a thatched gazebo, where guests gather to enjoy mouth-watering food, share stories of their day, and enjoy a shared passion of all things nature and diving.

Umkomaas is the diving mecca of South Africa, a short 30-minute drive from Durban city centre, attracting visitors from all over the world. The quaint village has a wonderful selection of restaurants and coffee shops overlooking the ocean, and there is also a local Nature Reserve and Golf Course. The stunning beach is a 10-minute walk away with its spectacular swathes of surf and golden sands. For those looking for an experience of a lifetime, combination tours can be arranged to include diving in both Mozambique and South Africa along with a Big-5 Safari.
