Escape aboard a sleek and stylish liveaboard diving the Bahamas. With up to 19 dives in the week, you can also explore the islands and meet the native swimming pigs. Cat Ppalu offers a first-class and personalised experience for an itinerary of unforgettable adventure.

The stunning Cat Ppalu offers scuba diving and adventure in the adrenaline-filled and bountiful waters of the Exumas. It accommodates 12 passengers in 6 cabins. Each week, the boat sets sail from Nassau to the Northern Exumas on the 65' sailing dive charter catamaran. This is the ultimate escape aboard a beautiful vessel where a superb variety of diving, walls, blue holes, patch reefs, shark dives and high speed drift dives are all on the bill. You can make up to 19 dives during the week or opt for land-based adventure to simply explore the islands, visit the native swimming pigs, discover Staniel Cay or the Exumas Land & Sea Park.

The Exuma Cays is the anchor drop destination and the itinerary focus where all the diving adventure takes place. As the sites in this area are limited to access by liveaboard only, marine life is abundant and sites are pristine. The variety of dive sites is unmatched in the Caribbean. Many divers opt for The Exuma Cays for the exhiliarating chance to swim with the sharks, whilst others are fascinated by the coral gardens, delicate fans or intriguing colors and shapes of sponges. Get ready to have up close and personal encounters with spectacular fish of all sizes from trevallies to Goliath grouper. Bring your camera to get some stunning wide-angle shots of eels, long-legged lobsters, bashful crabs, and many many more.

Kayak the cays and inlets, explore the many uninhabited beaches, and even big game fish from the boat itself Bahamas is a very special place and the Cat Ppalu is a very superb choice to uncover some of the best diving spots in the Caribbean.

Double Cabin

Cat Ppalu has 4 main double cabins. It offers a comfortable and cozy space for two guests. Offering natural light and ocean views. It offers electric outlets for charging electronic devices. Clean and well-maintained, shared with other cabins.

Route Options

Experience exceptional scuba diving like no other place in the Atlantic Ocean or Caribbean. The variety of dive sites in the Exuma Cays is truly unique. Because it can only be reached on a dive liveaboard, this underwater world is pristine and filled with an abundance of colorful fish, macro-critters, corals, sponges, fans, lobster and sharks.

Beyond the thrill of swimming with sharks in their native habitat, we offer a passive shark feed dive each week for our liveaboard guests. The feeds allow you to closely observe the behaviors of these magnificent apex predators. We have a site in the Exumas and another in Eleuthera area – so no matter the itinerary – you can watch this event and take photos.

Sample Itinerary

Saturday:
6:00pm board. Check in, dinner, unpack, orientation and safety briefing.

Sunday:
Depart before first light; offering 4 daytime dives and 1 night dive today. 

Monday through Wednesday:
4 daytime dives and 1 night dive per day/night in the Exuma Cays and/or Eleuthera. Shore excursions are offered daily.

Thursday:
4 daytime dives Captain’s Dinner with photo and video presentations; awards presented during dessert. 

Friday:
2 daytime dives
Return to Nassau 2:00-5:00pm depending on weather and travel distance. 6:00pm Farewell Cocktail Party. Port night in Nassau! Dinner on your own. The evening is yours to enjoy in Nassau.

Saturday:
Disembark vessel by 9:00am.

Shark Area

New Providence, Bahamas

The arena is a sandy spot of few kicks away from the wall. The surrounding area is home to a community of resident Caribbean reef sharks. The arena is market with a semi-circle of stones in the sand which divers are placed when participating in the daily Stuart Coves Shark Adventure.

Shark Wall

New Providence, Bahamas

Top of the wall begins in 50’ of water and drops to a deep vertical wall. Coral formations consist of hard and soft corals as well as a large variety of tube sponges. This site is home to Nassau and Black groupers, Eagle Rays, Lobster, Stingrays and Caribbean Reef Sharks, Horse Eye Jacks and Green Moray Eels.

Lost Blue Hole

New Providence, Bahamas

The rim of this large blue hole lies in 40' of water surrounded by coral heads, sting rays and many schools of fish. There is a lobster filled crevice at 80'. In the sand surrounding the hole, divers will find many small fish such as banded jawfish, Seminole gobies and tobacco fish. There are usually 1 or 2 nurse sharks here and during the spring a large school of black nose sharks inhabits the bottom of the 200' hole. This site is normally visited on the way to or from the Exumas. This is the location of our first lionfish sighting.

Periwinkle Reef

This is a shallow patch reef that is teaming with fish. The local Nassau operators feed fish here, so sergeant majors and angelfish will approach scuba divers looking for a handout.

Pillar Wall

Bahamas Diving , Bahamas

Pillar Wall is one of many excellent wall dives. It starts at 30' and slopes to 50' before dropping 5,000' to the bottom. There are many caves and crevices. There is a large colony of yellow head jawfish in the rubble inside the reef.

Jake's Hole

This tidal blue hole lies in 20' of water. The highlight of this dive is the vibrant corals surrounding the hole. Because it is very tidal, scuba divers aren't permitted to enter the hole.

Eleuthera

Most natural wrecks than any other island! Excellent reef and wreck diving. Eleuthera is a thin and long island east of Nassau with a beautiful landscape.

Great Exuma Cay

Located south-west of Nassau Island. Bahamas has a whole is a great shark dive destination but Nassau is especially highly populated and you can expect a to see a family of white-tip sharks and manta rays.
