The Palms Resort Barbados consists of two apartment buildings, Halcyon Palm and Travellers Palm, ideally located on the picturesque sunset coast on the west side of the island just a 30 minute drive from the international airport. This idyllic setting enables the resort to be the exotic holiday you had in mind, boasting a central location, close to perfect long white sandy beaches such as Paynes Bay beach, Good Shepherd beach and Sandy Lane beach as well as an array of excellent facilities, it offers you the Barbados experience at a reasonable cost. The surrounding waters are full of subaquatic delights to suit all level of divers and ensure you have a truly wonderful experience.

Halcyon Palm is the larger of the two apartment buildings, set amongst lush tropical gardens with a pristine pool located in the centre of the building. Travellers Palm is the smaller of the two, reflecting the same luxury and peacefulness as Halcyon Palm. This is also where you will find the reception and restaurant.

Offering a total of 41 one bedroom apartments in the in the heart of the west coast of Barbados, 25 rooms are located at the Halcyon Palm resort and 16 at the Travellers Palm. The buildings are within walking distance from each other and offer tastefully decorated apartments with fully equipped kitchens, living and dining areas, a bedroom with twin beds and a balcony or a patio overlooking the gardens and pool.

The resort’s restaurant Saffa’s is located at the Travellers Palm building offering international and local cuisine with a full service bar. The restaurant is set in lush and tranquil surroundings, cooled by a constant refreshing breeze. It is the perfect place to kick back, relax and sample the resort’s delightful dishes or unwind with an invigorating drink.

The West Side Scuba Centre is the PADI 5 star accredited dive centre allocated to the Palms Resort Barbados with a knowledgeable team of three dive instructors and four experienced dive guides. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced diver, you can discover the beauty of Barbados and the Caribbean Sea in small groups that are tailored to the needs of the divers. There is a variety of twenty dives sites within a 10 minute boat ride and four different wrecks which are easily accessed, as well as two marine parks and a turtle park. West Side Scuba Centre also offers free transportation to and from your hotel.

Within walking distance of the resort you will find numerous water sport centres offering kayaking, jet skiing, surfing and water skiing to name just a few and the well-known Lime Grove duty free shopping area so there are plenty of activities available to keep you busy.

West Side Scuba Centre is located close to some of the most beautiful reefs on the West and South Coast of Barbados the West Side Scuba Centre is a 5* PADI accredited with a variety of courses up to instructor level, so even if you are new to diving or an advanced diver looking to do speciality course they can offer a range of diving to suit all. The centre visits some of the most beautiful reefs on the west and south coast of Barbados and excels in offering you memorable diving experiences, customer satisfaction, safety and underwater environmental awareness by providing a professional and outstanding service.

Being formed completely of coral, Barbados provides spectacular dives with magnificent reefs, fascinating shipwrecks and abundant marine life. Divers can explore the barrier reefs situated within two miles of the West Coast. There are 4 different wrecks that West Side Scuba visits, two marine parks and a turtle park. The most famous of the wrecks, the Stavronikita creates a fascinating penetration dive for experienced divers. They also offer twenty reef dives from the south to the north and during the summer months it is possible to dive the East Coast.

West Side Scuba Centre is equipped with some of the most modern Sherwood equipment, BCD’s with inflator hose and regulators with depth gauges and octopus. Torches, masks, snorkels, fins, weight belts and 3mm wetsuits are also available. Should you wish to take home a lasting memory of your dive, they have under water cameras available for rental. The dive centre is equipped with one dive boat, accommodating 10 divers holding 30 tanks in racks.

PADI Open Water Diver (Inc Equipment)

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

PADI Open Water Referral

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science its just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

PADI Online Open Water Diver

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The Online PADI Open Water Course was recently launched by PADI and enables you to complete the theoretical training and knowledge development sessions online and then take the final exam and complete the confined and open water dives in resort.

This is an exclusive opportunity we run with Inmo Divers in Dahab. The cost of the online section is 120USD and can be completed within on the PADI E-Learning website .

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science it’s just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

PADI Rescue Diver
