Murex Bangka

Murex Bangka

Diving around Bangka Island, North Sulawesi, is recognized for its unique blend of vibrant coral reefs and rich marine biodiversity, making it one of Indonesia’s most underrated dive destinations. Located between Bunaken and Lembeh, Bangka offers a combination of colorful reefs and macro life within a compact and accessible area. The dive sites are typically characterized by pinnacles and gently sloping reefs, covered in soft corals, sponges, and sea fans, creating visually striking underwater landscapes.

Marine life in Bangka is highly diverse, ranging from reef fish, turtles, and occasional pelagic species to a wide variety of macro critters such as nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, and crustaceans. This diversity makes the area ideal for both wide-angle and macro photography. Diving conditions are generally favorable throughout the year, with warm waters, good visibility, and mild to moderate currents suitable for most experience levels. Overall, Bangka provides a balanced and rewarding diving experience, offering quieter sites compared to other regions while still delivering exceptional underwater encounters.
