Blue Star Dive Resort

Located on the Anda coast of Bohol, the Blue Star Dive Resort is the ideal base where you can dive, explore, relax and have the most remarkable diving experience in the Philippines. Here you will be able to dive some the most outstanding and pristine coral reefs in the Visayas with year round exceptionally warm crystal clear waters. The resort’s remote oceanfront setting features breath-taking views of the sea against the horizon and provides you with a range of adventure activities in a relaxed and calm environment.

The Blue Star Dive Resort offers a combination of 11 garden rooms and 7 sea view bungalows for you to choose from, all with a private balcony or terrace where you can enjoy a relaxing drink at the end of a hard day’s diving. If you are looking for a relaxing day, the in-house spa offers a range of pampering treatments including “Hilot”, the Philippine traditional massage practiced for generations or you can take a dip into the resort’s purpose built swimming pool or just do some star gazing from the pool side jacuzzi.

In the evening you can appreciate a fresh tropical fruit cocktail at the bar whilst enjoying the magnificent sunset. Wednesdays are a special day for pizza lovers as this is when you will be served a range of Italian pizzas cooked in the resort’s wood fired oven.

The SSI dive centre located on-site offers daily fun dives lead by a friendly team of local and international dive masters who will guide you on your underwater adventure. The scheduled boat dives depart the resort 3 times a day offering you the opportunity to do 2 morning and 1 afternoon dives.

When you are not diving or relaxing at the resort you can explore the South East corner of Bohol with a visit to the local underground caves, the Tarsier sanctuary, the Chocolate Hills, the island’s beautiful waterfalls, mangrove swamps and inland lakes on a guided tour.

Blue Star Dive Centre

Blue Star Dive Resort

The Blue Star Dive Centre is located on the grounds of the tranquil and beautiful Blue Star Dive Resort on the south east coast of Bohol. This on-site dive centre means you have easy access to some of the best dive spots in the area located just a short ride away from the resort.

Daily fun dives are lead by a friendly team of local and international dive masters who will guide you on your underwater adventure on the scheduled boat dives that leave the resort three times a day. You can take advantage of morning, mid-morning and after lunch departures for diving in the Anda area from a small “banca”, the Filipino word for “boat” and day safaris to surrounding islands from a long range boat with inside cabin. The Blue Star Dive Centre also offers a full range of both PADI and SSI courses from your first adventure in diving to professional qualifications with the instructors on hand to teach in both English and German.

This fully equipped dive centre offers equipment rental in all sizes, a workshop for dive equipment maintenance as well as a dive shop fully equipped with small essentials and a full range of diving related equipment. In addition to air certified DIN and YOKE tanks the Blue Star Dive Centre offers Nitrox filled tanks for rental.

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

PADI Open Water Diver (Inc Equipment)

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

PADI Adventure Diver

Complete three Adventure Divers (underwater photography, fish identification, etc.) and earn the Adventure Diver certification, a subgroup of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.

You can choose what you’re most interested in learning. Need to work on your buoyancy skills? Try the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive. Want to know what you’re looking at down there? Try the AWARE - Fish Identification or Underwater Naturalist Adventure Dives. You’ll plan your path with your instructor, go over what you need to know and dive in quickly.

PADI Junior Open Water Diver

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

PADI Rescue Diver

Become a Rescue Diver. A great level to be. You will have the skills to aid your fellow divers in an emergency.

The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques.
