Malapascua is known for some of the best shark diving in the Philippines, famous for thresher sharks which can be seen at any time of year at Monad Shoal and Kemod Shoal. This area is reputedly the only place in the world where thresher sharks can be seen within recreational diver limits on a regular basis. The dive centre owns the largest boat fleet on the island enabling them to offer diving experiences that suit guest’s needs and the experienced guides lead small groups of divers ensuring you get the most out of your dive.

Exotic is lucky enough to have its own house reef which is not to be missed. The reef starts at 5 metres, it slopes down to 13 metres and between the coral and scattered patches of sea grass there is a wide variety of macro fish life to be found. The house reef coupled with the amazing artificial structures the resort has been working on for several years including a coral encrusted sunken jeep, a large wire, concrete structures and a few old boats creates the perfect habitat for corals and sea life to flourish. This one of a kind exclusive house reef is suitable for beginner divers right through to seasoned divers; even photographers will love this site.

Malapascua and Dumaguete

Our 2 centre diving holiday in the Philippines, organised by Marcelina Jesus from Ultimate Diving, was faultless and well thought out, it was only the local weather conditions, road infrastructures and our lack of speaking the local language that prevented it from being 100% for us. However the centres and Marcelina’s organisation were faultless. The things seen at the diving sites went beyond all Expectations of the diver with the dive guides pointing out small life which could easily have been missed by me.

11 Nights at the Exotic Dive & Beach Resort

The holiday was absolutely great, very relaxing. The location was wonderful, the dive team very professional and the guides excellent. The weather was as could be expected sunny and warm, the hotel very clean and well run and the food in the restaurant brilliant with so much choice. All in all I can’t say enough for the holiday we both had a great time and were very sad to leave.

Philippines diving holiday

Chris felt that his holiday to the Philippines was good value for money and that the diving destination was absolutely spot on, no issues what-so-ever. He stayed in the Exotic Dive and Beach Resort, of which he said was “brilliant, really clean and nice, excellent staff” and the Coron Hilltop View resort was also to the same standards. Speaking of the dive centres and hotel experience, he said he found both “First class, absolutely unbelievable, 10 out of 10. The staff were really friendly, really helpful, absolutely spectacular! Legendary!” Mr Lannin also said “The holiday itself was fantastic, I couldn’t have asked for any more of Holly, the girl who put together my holiday, everything she arranged ran absolutely smoothly which helped to make my holiday amazing. I asked Chris to rate us out of 10, 10 being the best and his response was 11, saying that everything was over and above his expectations and that he would most definitely be booking his diving holiday with Ultimate Diving again next year!
