PADI Advanced Freediver

Designed to refine and improve your free diving skills, allowing you to progress slowly while learning how your body performs during apnea (suspension of breathing).

Achieving a new free diving time or reaching a new depth is an incredible feeling. It satisfies that very personal desire to do your best and be proud of what you can accomplish.

What the Course Entails

The PADI Advanced Freediver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge development about advanced free diving techniques and equipment. You’ll study independently using the PADI Free
Confined water session to learn stretching and relaxation techniques as well as refine static and dynamic apnea. Goal - static apnea of 2 minutes, 30 seconds (2 minutes for free divers younger than 18) and dynamic apnea of 50 metres/165 feet (40 metres/130 feet for free divers younger than 18)
Open water sessions to practice deeper free immersion and constant weight free dives, along with additional buddy procedures and rescue techniques. Goal - constant weight free dive of 20 meters/65 feet (15 metres/50 feet for free divers younger than 18).

Course Pre-requisites

To enrol in a PADI Advanced Free diver course you must be at least 15 years old and have a PADI Free diver certification (or a qualifying certification from another free diver organization).

The PADI Advanced Free diver course is designed to full fill that personal need to refine and improve your free diving skills, allowing you to progress slowly while learning how your body performs during apnea.

How Can I Get Started?

If you already have the PADI Free diver Touch tablet app (coming soon), simply get started on the Advanced Free diver section. If not, contact your local PADI Free diver Center or PADI Advanced Free diver Instructor and get the interactive Touch. You can review basic free diving information in the first section, then start studying for your advanced training.
