Lembeh Resort

A spectacular friendly resort with magnificent views of Lembeh Strait.

The Lembeh Resort is a wonderful, intimate boutique style hotel elegantly situated amongst the lush green tropical hills of Lembeh Island with magnificent views out over the straits. Approximately 1 and a half hours drive from Manado airport, followed by a 10 minute boat ride across the Lembeh Strait the resort is encircled by opulent green gardens ensuring it blends perfectly into the landscape. This resort has swiftly become a world class diving destination within the diving community fundamentally for muck and critter diving, though in more recent years it has also become extremely popular for macro and wide angled photography.

The Lembeh Resort boasts 14 rooms made up of deluxe cottages, either traditional Minahasan or modern cliffside and the garden view rooms on a full board diver option. The spacious wooden Minahasan cottages are detached and boast private verandas offering guests breath-taking scenery and sunset views over Mount Klabat. Four of these cottages are designed as two separate rooms comfortably accommodating up to four people or two adults and two children. The modern cliffside cottages perched high above the resort offering magnificent 180 degree views of the strait off your secluded balcony it is more than worth walking up the steps for! Recently constructed the modern garden view rooms are situated close to the restaurant and dive centre offering affordable and surprisingly spacious rooms ideal for single travellers or those on a smaller budget.

Guests can find the restaurant and bar centrally located on the upper level of the main building with beautiful views it is open from 7am until 10:30pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast and lunch is normally a buffet, and dinner is a-la-carte, where the chefs prepare a wide selection of International and Indonesian cuisine catering to all tastes. The chefs will happily do their utmost to accommodate any special requests and dietary requirements. At the bar guests can enjoy a bottle of wine from the selection, sip a refreshing cocktail or simply have a nice cold Bintang beer. The staff are more than happy to serve drinks around the pool area so guests can make the most of the beautiful views.

Guests staying at the Lembeh Resort can access around 40 dive sites in the area and benefit from the PADI centre Critters@Lembeh which is run by an experienced and passionate crew including a marine biologist. Located on site and fully equipped with modern dive gear and a camera room the staff can organise daily snorkelling and diving sessions to suit new and experienced divers.

The recreational options at the resort include hours of indulgence in the resort's spa or in the fresh water swimming pool enjoying the stunning views across the Lembeh Strait. You can also take advantage of a full range of land based excursions on offer ranging from a short 1.5 hour tour of the local village to the full day tour of the Minahasan Highlands.

Critters@Lembeh is the PADI 5* dive centre located on the beautiful grounds of the Lembeh Resort. The enthusiastic, fully qualified and professional friendly team awaits you at the diving centre to ensure you enjoy your scuba experience. Boasting nearly 50,000 combined Lembeh Strait dives, the dive team's infectious enthusiasm will exceed your highest expectations. The guest to guide ratio of 3:1 ensures personal attention that will help you get through most if not all of the critters on your wish list.

    NITROX is available to qualified divers. For those who have yet to experience the benefits of NITROX, the centre offers the PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty course, as well as a full range of other PADI courses for those who wish to increase their diving knowledge and skills.

    Critters@Lembeh offers more than six different dive opportunities every day including guided early morning house reef dives, guided boat dives at 08:00,11:00, and 14:30. An early evening guided Manderin fish dive at 17:15, guided night dives at 18:30 and a guided late-night dive after 20:00 and self-guided house reef dives.

    The centre has four spacious, comfortable and efficient dive boats and a smaller speed boat used for special for charters. Boat trips to the dive sites are generally between 5 and 15 minutes. Double boat dives are arranged when divers desire sites located further than 20 minutes from the resort.

    PADI Open Water Diver (Inc Equipment)

    This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

    The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

    Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
    Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
    Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

    PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

    The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
    You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

    This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

    The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

    PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver

    The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

    You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional (or required) scuba dives, you’ll:

    PADI Rescue Diver

    Become a Rescue Diver. A great level to be. You will have the skills to aid your fellow divers in an emergency.

    The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

    PADI Divemaster

    Be a leader who mentors and motivates others. Gain dive knowledge, supervision abilities, and become a role model to divers around the world.

    The PADI Dive master course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through knowledge development sessions, water skills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities.
