The Minahasa Lagoon is a beautifully modern striking resort situated on the mainland coast of North Sulawesi. Surrounded by lush tropical rain forest with a picturesque mountain river fed by a stunning waterfall on one side, the other side opens onto its own private white sandy beach overlooking the stunning house reef. It truly is a magical destination, the resort prides itself on its ‘rustic feel’ and promises you the holiday of a lifetime. With world class diving to enjoy on the doorstep such as the Bunaken National Park and its own amazing house reef you will be spoilt for choice.

There are 22 private cottages in the resort, 9 beach front, 6 hill view and 7 garden view cottages all complete with their own individual verandas with outdoor dining tables and loungers. Each cottage is modern and luxurious in design enjoying a four poster bed and air conditioning. With the beach front cottages you can step from your veranda right upon the resorts exquisite private beach, while the other cottages offer fantastic views of the jungle covered hills and beautifully maintained gardens.

The resort’s 5* PADI registered dive centre is managed by multi-lingual dive instructors and offers courses up to dive master level ensuring a impeccable service to all customers. Newly built the centre is fully equipped with state of the art gear as well as nitrox fills. The centre offers a wide range of PADI courses, pre-arranged group dive tours and personalised dives around the Bunaken Marine Park and Lembeh Strait to name but a few. The diving around this area is phenomenal and you will experience a countless flow of marine life including seahorse, frog fish, schooling cat fish, ghost pipefish, scorpion fish, nudibranchs and turtles!

If you take a day off from exploring the scenery underwater then why not explore “The Highlands” located up the side of the mountain from the resort. Wander through the forest, meet the welcoming local people and sample local food from the stalls. You can also take a leisurely stroll to the spa and get pampered, the massage salon’s walls fold back to reveal a magical view of the ocean for the ultimate relaxation feeling.

Offering full-board, you can choose to dine whilst listening the sounds of the ocean at the River restaurant or perched on the edge of the jungle dine at the Jungle restaurant where you will sit with the chef and discuss your own personal tastes in food. The choice is yours! The chefs will then assemble a dish from the most local and fresh of products for you to indulge yourself in. If it is something a little more private and romantic you are looking for then why not have your dinner cooked for you on your own private veranda by your personal chef.

Eco Divers Manado is a PADI 5 Star Gold Palm IDC Centre set amongst the beautiful surroundings of the Minahasa Lagoon Resort. Managed by multi-lingual, passionate dive instructors the centre is able to offer all PADI and specialities courses including Underwater Photography. The professional and fully certified dive team will guarantee you an exceptional dive adventure whether you are learning to dive or an experienced diver!

Having some of Manado’s most knowledgeable dive guides means that Eco Divers are able to offer a safe, organised, relaxed and highly personalised diving experience to every customer. Home to the fist dedicated photography and videography centre, the digital centre provides rentals, sales, courses, workshops, souvenirs and group videos to cater to every guest needs.

The Minahasa Lagoon Resort is very fortunate in the fact that it has its own house reef and is on the threshold of the south section of Bunaken National Park, this gives easy access to a wide variety of dive sites within a short boat ride. Unlimited house reef diving is available to every customer between 8am and 5pm. With only 4 guests per guide you are guaranteed to receive the personal and relaxed experience every diver wishes for. Snacks, fruit and unlimited tea and coffee are available throughout a day’s diving.

    PADI Scuba Diver

    This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Dive Course. If you’re short on time but really want to become a diver, The PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

    The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

    PADI Open Water Diver

    This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

    The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

    Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
    Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
    Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

    PADI Open Water Referral

    This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

    From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

    You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science its just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

    PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

    The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
    You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

    This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

    The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

    PADI Adventure Diver

    Complete three Adventure Divers (underwater photography, fish identification, etc.) and earn the Adventure Diver certification, a subgroup of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.

    You can choose what you’re most interested in learning. Need to work on your buoyancy skills? Try the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure Dive. Want to know what you’re looking at down there? Try the AWARE - Fish Identification or Underwater Naturalist Adventure Dives. You’ll plan your path with your instructor, go over what you need to know and dive in quickly.

    PADI Discover Scuba Diving

    This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

    The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

    PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver

    The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.

    Junior Open Water Divers ages 10 to 11 years must complete three adventure dives to become a Junior Adventure Diver. They must dive with a PADI Professional or certified parent/guardian. Dives must not exceed 12 metres/ 40 feet.

    Junior Open Water Divers ages 12 to 14 years may complete three Adventure Dives to earn the Junior Adventure Diver rating or five Adventure Dives to earn the Junior Advanced Open Water rating and must dive with a certified adult.

    PADI Junior Open Water Diver

    This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

    PADI Rescue Diver

    Become a Rescue Diver. A great level to be. You will have the skills to aid your fellow divers in an emergency.

    The PADI Rescue Diver course prepares you to deal with dive emergencies, minor and major, using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

    Medic First Aid (EFR)

    First Aid course - To be completed with Rescue Diver Course unless you already hold a first certificate (please bring this to the dive centre if you wish to complete the course).

    This course is to teach you how to administer First Aid to a person. Various skills will be learnt such as CPR, types of injury and bandaging.

    PADI Enriched Air Diver

    The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air nitrox gives you more no decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives.

    You’ll learn why diving with air that has higher oxygen and lower nitrogen content gives you more bottom time, along with enriched air equipment considerations. During a practical session, and two optional (or required) scuba dives, you’ll:

    PADI Divemaster

    Be a leader who mentors and motivates others. Gain dive knowledge, supervision abilities, and become a role model to divers around the world.

    The PADI Dive master course teaches you to be a leader and take charge of dive activities. Through knowledge development sessions, water skills exercises and workshops, and hands-on practical assessment, you develop the skills to organize and direct a variety of scuba diving activities.
