The PADI accredited 5* Werner Lau dive centre in Filitheyo is run by the multi-lingual, knowledgably and experienced crew consisting of 11 international instructors who will give you the opportunity to discover the untouched underwater delights abundant with fish around the 30 different diving sites in complete safety. Offering a wide range of diving from PADI open water courses to 5 days diving new and experienced divers will have an array of options to choose from.
This new and spaciously built diving centre has been designed by professionals to meet the specific needs of divers and is located directly on the beach on the east side of the atoll. The centre is generously equipped to the highest and most modern standards allowing you to rent all your equipment once you arrive in the centre. If you have your own personal diving equipment it can be stored in the purpose built wet room that is securely locked overnight. The centre has a fully equipped workshop so if there are any problems with equipment staff are fully trained and on hand to assist.
Guests can dive the house reef at any time during the day, there are 3 diving boats (dhonies) which depart daily at 09:00 and 14:30 they have oxygen and medical supplies on board in case of emergencies and the crew are fully trained in first aid. Werner Lau centres offer Nitrox diving free of charge.
Please Note:
There is an additional certification fee to be paid locally on all diving courses
Logbooks and manuals are not included in the price and can be obtained onsite
Diving courses include all the necessary equipment except mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit
PADI courses except for Junior Open Water cannot be book in advance, they must be booked locally
Boat trips paid locally
Inexperienced divers with less than 40 dives will be guided by an instructor. There is a charge for night dive which are to be paid locally
Extra local charge for tank service
The 6 days shore diving package is based on unlimited diving on 6 consecutive days and include early morning and night dives on the local house reef
All diving packages are based on house reef dives - boat dives are available with a supplement charge at the dive centre counter
The Maldivian Government has implemented a 17% TGS (Tourism Goods and Services Tax) and will be charged to all clients for all services provided at the resort, which will also include additional diving services. Pre-booked diving rates may include this charge.
