The Coral Sun Beach Resort has a seafood restaurant and a traditional Egyptian café. Drinks and refreshments can be enjoyed at the pool bar or at the lobby pub. There is also a lively disco where you can let your head down after a busy day relaxing around the resort.

The ORCA Dive Club in Safaga is the dive base serving the Coral Sun Beach Resort and it is something like the mother of all ORCA bases in the Red Sea. Technical diving has an important place at the base, rebreathers can be serviced in the dedicated technical workshop and divers can take advantage of the different gases available to satisfy the different needs of any technical diver.

Orca Divers

Soma Bay

ORCA Dive Club Soma Bay is based at The Breakers, a modern lifestyle hotel of superlatives, specially designed for enthusiastic divers, snorkelers, and kite surfers. From the dive centre, it is only a short walk across the 420 metres long jetty that takes you to one of the most beautiful house reefs in the Red Sea and access to the drop-off reef of Ras Abu Soma.

The dive centre has a large open-air area with check-in counter, training rooms, diving bar with a wonderful view over the beach, several drying rooms for guest equipment and a shop with the most important diving equipment, T-shirts and souvenirs.

Catering to all divers, Orca Dive Club is well stocked with rental equipment in all sizes and offers a variety of tank sizes including 8, 10, 12 and15 litre aluminium tanks. They have a dedicated compressor including a nitrox system only for house reef dives and additional compressors and a nitrox membrane system in the Soma Bay Marina for boat dives.

Diving training according to SSI, PADI and CMAS as well as all possible special courses of the associations are also on offer.

The house reef Soma Bay promises spectacular dives. Unlimited diving from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The diving equipment is driven to the end of the jetty with environmentally friendly electric vehicles, so that everyone can start their house reef dive with fresh vigor. In the marina, a 5-minute drive away, the day boats are waiting for the full-day and half-day trips, the speed boats for early morning trips to the panoramic reef, for trips to the nearby reefs such as Tobia Arbaa or for drift dives along the house reef Abu Soma.

All courses include equipment and instructor services. Manuals and certification fees are not included and will be charged at the dive centre. Manuals & Certification Fee 65,00€.

Important Notice:

When diving or snorkelling in Egypt, you must always carry your passport with you as it is a requirement for the boat permissions. Please also be aware that coastguards do carry out random checks and as such anyone who does not have a passport will not be permitted to join the boat. To dive at certain dive sites, you will be required to get a Full Egyptian Tourist Visa.



PADI Open Water Diver (Inc Equipment)

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development ( online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver program gives you the opportunity to take your diving skill to the next level through three new areas of diving.
You complete your Deep Dive, Underwater Navigation Dive, Night Dive and two other dives for a total of five to attain your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

This certification includes five dives, including the Deep Diver, the Underwater Navigation Diver and three of the following: You’ll plan your learning path with your instructor by choosing from a long list of Adventure Dives. There are two required dives – Deep and Underwater Navigation – and you choose the other three, for a total of five dives. During the Deep Adventure Dive, you learn how to plan dives to deal with the physiological effects and challenges of deeper scuba diving. The Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive refines your compass navigation skills and helps you better navigate using kick-cycles, visual landmarks and time.

The other knowledge and skills you get vary with your interest and the adventures you have – photography, buoyancy control, fish identification, exploring wrecks and many more.

PADI Discover Scuba Diving

This course is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course. If you're short on time but really want to become a diver, the PADI Scuba Diver rating might be right for you.

The PADI Scuba Diver course consists of three main phases:

PADI Open Water Referral

This is the most popular dive program in the world! And can be your chance to have a lifetime of intense adventures.

From the beginning to end of the course, you will learn the fundamentals of scuba diving, including areas such as dive equipment and techniques that will give you the confidence and skill to become a responsible diver.

You attain this rating by completing five pool dives and a number of knowledge development sessions with a final exam (which is not rocket science its just diving) and by completing four open water dives.

PADI Bubblemaker

Experience scuba diving under the direct supervision of a PADI Pro. Take your first breaths underwater in water shallower than 2 metres/6ft. For children who are at least 8 years old.
