Additional Information

Your first week will be on-board the Emperor Asmaa, a 28-metre custom built boat designed with divers in mind offering charters around the northern and southern Red Sea. The itinerary will be focused around South & St Johns, a place that guarantees some of the best diving the Red Sea has to offer, the diving is less arduous so it's a trip for those who want to see the best but have a more relaxed time while doing so.

After disembarking you will be transferred to the Brayka Bay Resort where you can enjoy more of the local diving including day trips to Elphinstone and Abu Dabab.

To end the 2 weeks on an absolute high, your dry day will be on a day trip to Luxor where you will see the great temples of Karnak, spectacular tombs in the Valley of the Kings, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut and boat across the Nile.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Depart the UK

This is where the adventure really begins with a weekly flight departing from Gatwick and Birminham, Marsa Alam is just a short flight away!

Flight departs London Gatwick every Thursday and Birmingham every Monday arriving Marsa Alam on the same day.

On arrival you will be met by a member of the Ultimate Diving ground team and transferred to the Emperor Divers transfer outside the airport terminal who will transfer you to Port Ghalib to board the Emperor Asmaa.

Day 2 - 7: Daily diving on-board the M/Y Emperor Asmaa

M/Y Emperor Asmaa, a week of thrills guaranteed!

The South & St Johns route on-board the Asmaa offers a week full of reef diving departing from Marsa Ghalib Port. This trip sails to the most southern reefs in the Red Sea including the Shaag Sharm, Wadi Lahmi and Habili Ali. A dive at Abu Dabab will be done on the first or the last day with the guides picking the best sites for you depending on the weather.

This route gives divers a chance to get up close and personal with an array of fish life including white tip reef sharks, turtles, silky sharks, rays, nudibranchs, large napoleon wrasse and glass fish, sweepers, grey reef sharks, silvertip sharks and hammerhead sharks

Please Note:

You must be a PADI Open Water diver to be able to take part in this trip however to get the most out of this trip we advised you to be PADI Advanced Open Water qualified.

Day 8: Disembark & check in at the Brayka Bay Resort

After saying your goodbyes to the Emperor Asmaa team you will be transferred to the stunning 4 star Brayka Bay Resort located south of Port Ghalib.

The Brayka Bay Resort caters for couples looking for a romantic getaway, individuals seeking a peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life or divers in quest of the best diving spots the southern Red Sea has to offer.

This 4-star hotel has just 320 spacious and elegant rooms, all offering breathtaking views of the ocean or the lush and tropical gardens. The rooms at the Brayka Bay Resort were built to suit all customer’s needs and budgets with a choice of standard rooms, suites and family units available.

The 3 restaurants and 3 bars offer a range of dining experiences, from mouth-watering Arabic dishes and Italian delights to the freshest seafood and international specialties, the Brayka Bay Resort creates culinary wonders suiting every taste. The different bars and restaurants spread all over the resort so you can choose from fine dining or a casual snack.

Day 9 - 13: Daily Diving with Coraya Divers

Coraya Divers dive centre is a mere 100 metres from the fabulous house reef where you can enjoy some serious diving!

Coraya Divers in Marsa Alam is a large and very accommodating dive centre located on the grounds of the Brayka Bay Resort offering extraordinary diving spots near Marsa Alam year-round.

The bay offers many different and diverse diving opportunities, and on land there are 60 willing hands to make sure you’ll have the diving holiday of your dreams.

There are two modern speedboats for the short trips from the sheltered bay to fifteen different top dive sites like Elphinstone and Abu Dabab.

Day 14: Day Trip to Luxor - A PEARL OF ANTIQUITY

On your dry day, venture out on a private day trip to Luxor to explore most of what this ancient city of Luxor has to offer.

Luxor is the hub of Ancient Egyptian monuments. This busy town has developed to cater to the thousands of tourists who visit daily.

You will depart the resort early morning and visit the Karnak Temple, a complex temple built during the 1500 years. The cruise on Nile is available and charged $5 locally to help the volunteers. Following you will visit the 18 metres high Memnon’s 2 Colossus and the Hatshepsut Temple, the only known Woman Pharaoh in history. Tresspass near the house of Howard Carter, the archaeologist who discovered the tomb of Tutanchamon in 1922.

In the afternoon you will visit the famous Valley of Kings where you will explore 3 tombs of Egyptian lords and before heading back to Marsa Alam shop in alabaster manufactory.

You will arrive back at the Brayka Bay Resort at around 23:00

Day 15: Return Home

Time to say goodbye to Egypt and start the return journey.

With a number of great dives added to your dive belt and taken in some ancient history it is sadly time to get ready to come home.

The flights to Gatwick depart around 16:00 and take around 5 hours. The flights from Birmingham depart Marsa Alam a little later in the evening, around 20:45 and take around 6 hours.
