The Three Corners Equinox Beach Resort

Equinox Beach Resort is situated 240 km south of Hurghada and 30 km south of Marsa Alam International Airport (or Port Ghalib), between the coastal road and the Red Sea, with a beachfront stretching from approximately 1.3 km. The transfer from Marsa Alam airport takes you smoothly to the resort in about 30 minutes. Equinox Beach Resort is implanted in one of the most beautiful bays of the Red Sea. The bay “El Nabaa El Soghayar”, was in the past centuries a resting stop of the trade caravans and an important desert landmark. El Nabaa Bay is a natural enclave where lush green gardens frame a spread out classic architecture, which combines the laid-back atmosphere with refined elegance. From a stunning entrance lane with palm trees to fragrant gardens, the large fresh water pools and the 218 well-assigned rooms Equinox Beach Resort offers a wide range of amenities and is one of these perfect places to escape the world. For those who are looking for just bathing and relaxation in the sun, Equinox is the ideal place with its long soft beach and its large swimming pool, with children’s swimming area, surrounded by a magnificent green landscape. There is a children’s playground for younger guests. The resort is highly recommended for divers, snorkelers, wind surfers and kite surfers. Above all, this area of Marsa Alam is still one of the top diving and snorkelling sites of Egypt. Guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception and check-out service. Additional facilities include a buffet restaurant, the à la carte Italian Dolce Vita Restaurant, four bars and a Nubian Corner to enjoy your “shisha”. Equinox Beach Resort guests are very thrilled about the “stunning dives” and the “great beaches”. With names as Elphinstone and Dolphin House this area of Marsa Alam is one of the top diving sites of Egypt. Even, Abu Dabbab, neighbouring Equinox Beach Resort, is one of the few places in the world where you can dive and swim with the endangered dugong “sea cow”. There are two semi-permanent residents who are known by the nicknames of Dennis and Dougal, two of only seven currently known to exist along the entire Egyptian Red Sea Coast. And as if that isn’t enough the bay is also host to giant sea turtles for whom the shallow waters serve as an invaluable nesting site. The bay has colourful reefs as well, a myriad of beautiful fish, a small shipwreck and a swim-through canyon with underwater caves. There’s of course a dive center at the beach of the resort. The dive center caters for experienced divers and beginners alike. Dive and snorkel equipment can be rented in the dive center. Lessons and excursions are also available. Equinox Beach Resort is also well suited for families as it has one of the few beaches in the Marsa Alam area where you can wade directly into the sea. The beach is 1,3 km long, 900 meter of which is a sandy bay, and has umbrellas, wind brakers / sun shades and a jetty at the far end. The jetty also serves as a full licensed marina. The dive boats can leave directly from our marina so that long bus transfers are totally avoided. The 230 meter long jetty leads on to a submerged reef full of coral and fish of all kinds and turtles. The beach is protected in a bay and behind a reef so it is still not a problem for the kids to swim. The coral reef is just a few metres from the beach and pretty close to the jetty, so that even the smallest child can safely go to see the fish. The resort has two large and well designed swimming pools, both with a children’s swimming area. Enjoy the vast terraces, fully equipped with sunbeds, parasols and towels (all free of charge) and where you can fully enjoy amazing views over the Red Sea. The hotel is accessible by public transport, but kindly note, that the bus station is situated in the highway, 500 m from the property’s main gate and 1000 m from the reception. The hotel does not provide private shuttle bus service. Guests can rent taxi with extra charge, with prior reservation at least two hours before the usage.
