Gaia Love explores Indonesia’s most remote dive regions, including Raja Ampat, Komodo, Alor, Banda Sea, Forgotten Islands, Triton Bay, and Halmahera. Voyages of 6 to 11 nights follow seasonal conditions, offering pristine reefs, rich biodiversity, and rare encounters, with schedules balancing diving, exploration, and relaxation.

Gaia Love features spacious 20 square meter cabins with modern interiors, premium bedding, and private bathrooms. Guests enjoy a wide saloon, expansive decks, a dedicated camera room, and freshly prepared Indonesian and western cuisine from a chef-driven kitchen.

Raja Ampat, located off the northwest tip of West Papua, Indonesia, is a remote paradise made up of hundreds of lush islands surrounded by vibrant coral reefs. Known as the “Four Kings” for its main islands—Waigeo, Batanta, Salawati, and Misool—this region offers some of the richest marine biodiversity on Earth. From the sea floor to the surface, the waters teem with life, making it a dream destination for divers and underwater photographers alike.

Gaia Love itineraries explore the full range of Raja Ampat’s highlights. In the south, Misool dazzles with soft corals, sea fans, and both reef and oceanic mantas. Central Raja Ampat’s Dampier Strait offers thrilling dives at sites like Cape Kri and Blue Magic, known for dense fish life and the phenomenon known as “fish thunder.” Macro lovers will enjoy Batanta’s critter-rich muck sites and Arborek’s famous jetty dive.

In the north, divers can explore the mangroves of Aljui Bay, cross the equator while diving in Kawe, and experience the untouched beauty of Wayag’s limestone islands and coral gardens. 12 Nights 11 Days

Ambon’s rich marine life includes rare critters like the flamboyant cuttlefish, seahorses, and the elusive pygmy seahorse, making it a top destination for macro photography enthusiasts. The waters around Ambon are also home to larger marine species, such as reef sharks, barracudas, and schools of fish. With its mix of vibrant reefs and muck diving opportunities, Ambon offers divers a chance to explore some of the most intriguing and biodiverse underwater environments in the region.

Day 1: Embarkation – Sorong
Guests board in Sorong and enjoy a check dive in the afternoon.

Days 2–11: Diving & Exploration
Each day includes up to four dives, with night dives when possible. A typical day involves a light breakfast, morning and second dives, lunch, and one or two more dives. On crossing days, two dives are planned. Activities like snorkeling, hiking, and local village tours are also offered.

Day 12: Disembarkation
Guests check out and transfer to the airport or hotel.

12 Nights 11 Days

Diving in the Banda Sea offers some of Indonesia’s most unique underwater experiences. Once the sought-after Spice Islands, the Banda Islands have a rich history and are now known for their pristine reefs, steep drop-offs, and large pelagic fish. Divers can encounter schools of jacks, large tuna, Napoleon wrasse, rays, sharks, turtles, and sea snakes, as well as fascinating critter sites around Ambon Bay for macro enthusiasts.

The crossing also offers the chance to observe seabirds, such as frigate birds and boobies. On land, guests can explore historical sites like Banda Neira, the local museum, and the old fort, while learning about the island’s colonial past. A visit to a nutmeg and spice farm offers a taste of local flavors, including Tante’s homemade cinnamon tea and nutmeg jam.

11 Days 10 Nights

Ambon, in Indonesia’s Maluku province, is famed for its world-class muck diving, especially in Ambon Bay. Divers flock here to spot rare macro critters like rhinopias, frogfish, harlequin shrimp, and the unique psychedelic frogfish. The area also offers vibrant reefs, steep walls, and pelagic life, making it a favorite for both macro enthusiasts and those seeking diverse underwater experiences.

Southern Raja Ampat, centered around the island of Misool, is renowned for its breathtaking underwater landscapes and biodiversity. This remote area boasts vibrant soft coral gardens, massive sea fans, and dramatic reef formations. Divers can expect encounters with both reef and oceanic manta rays, along with dense schools of fish and frequent sightings of sharks. The region also features stunning lagoons, hidden caves, and mangrove-lined reefs, making it a paradise for both wide-angle photography and exploration.

Day 1
Guests board the vessel in Ambon and get settled in for the journey ahead. After safety briefings and a warm welcome, the day concludes with a check dive in the afternoon, allowing divers to adjust to the water conditions and equipment.

Day 2
The first full day of diving begins with three to four dives, including the possibility of a night dive. A light breakfast starts the day, followed by the first dive. After a second dive and a delicious breakfast, the group enjoys lunch, followed by two more dives before dinner. Activities such as snorkeling, hiking, and local village tours are available.

Day 3-10
Over the course of the next several days, divers will enjoy 3-4 dives daily, each day offering new dive sites to explore. The itinerary includes varied dive experiences, from vibrant coral reefs to thrilling night dives. The usual schedule includes a light breakfast, morning dives, followed by meals and more dives throughout the day. The evenings offer time for relaxation, with optional shore excursions and opportunities to learn about the local culture.

Day 11
On the second-to-last day, divers will enjoy their final morning dives before returning to port in the afternoon. The evening is spent back onboard for the last night before disembarkation.

Day 12
After breakfast, guests disembark from the vessel, with transfers arranged to the airport or hotel for their onward journey.

Pantai Parigi

Is a gentle slope just off of Lembeh, hiding in the sand we’ve seen seahorses, devil fish and robust pipe fish, in the shallows is a very pretty patch reef in which to end the dive.

Batu Kapal

The Batu Kapal is a slopping wall with good visibility and schooling tropicals. Occasionally, divers encounter very strong currents. It is located at the very top of the Lembeh Strait.

Manta Sandy

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Manta Sandy also known as Manta Mantra is one of the signature dive sites in Raja Ampat located at the far end of Mansour Island. As the name implies the sandy bottom is a great place to watch these magnificent underwater creatures. The cleaning station is only 12 metres away and here you can watch the mantas being cleaned with some staying as long as 10 minutes.

Sardine Reef

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Soft coral, gorgonian fans, black coral bushes and slopes of coral heads populate the whole Sardine Reef area. Large schools of fusiliers, sardines, damsels, banner fish, butterfly fish, sweetlips and snappers frequent the site, picking tasty morsels out of the current. Triggerfish and predators such as barracuda, Spanish mackerel, Jacks and giant trevallies can be seen as well. At the top of the food-chain, black tipped reef sharks, white tipped reef sharks and even grey reef sharks usually cruise the surroundings.

Blue Magic

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

One of the most popular sites in northern Raja Ampat. Almost anything can be seen from mantas, sharks and tuna to massive schools of jacks and barracuda. Along the slopes and onto the reef top are a variety of fans, sponges and soft and hard corals.

Cape Kri

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

At the Northeast point of Kri island the currents sweep into a channel between Kri and the small island of Koh. At this point beneath waters churning in the current, huge schools of Big-eye trevallies, Barracudas and Snappers can be seen hanging over the drop-off. At the base of the reef an ancient snagged anchor rests next to a bommie with a dense school of Banded sweetlips. A large shallow coral garden crowns the reef top with blacktip reef sharks patrolling amongst the overlapping maze of hard corals with feeding hawksbill turtles. Car-sized Queensland groupers down to the diminutive ever-present pygmy seahorse can be seen on this phenomenal dive site.

Chicken Reef

Raja Ampat, Indonesia

It is a reef with various soft and hard corals and some rock formations. The reef has an enormous number of magnificent reef fish. Some of the life here includes table corals, black staghorn corals, feather corals, angelfish, clown triggerfish, butterflyfish, trevallies, surgeonfish, and red-margin shrimpgobies.
