Antiquity On The East Coast

The pavilion once functioned as the Hall of Justice and among the artefacts on display can be found the Kamasan Paintings depicting famous Hindu legends throughout the ages.

Leaving Klungkung, travel into the countryside through the beautiful rice paddy fields of Rendang, passing local villages en route. Arrive at Candidasa beach, with time to shop, enjoy a cool drink or simply relax before lunch. After lunch, visit the village of Tenganan, home of the Bali Aga, considered to be the original inhabitants of Bali. This village has remained almost unchanged for hundreds of years and you will have the opportunity to learn about this ancient culture.

The final stop is the Balinese Hindu temple at Goa Lawah, known locally as the ‘Bat Cave’ after the hordes of bats that inhabit it. The temple is one of the six supremely holy temples on the island known as the ‘Sad Kahyangan’ and an important place of worship for the Balinese people.
