Lok Kawai Wildlife Park
The Lok Kawi Wildlife Park is located along the Penampang-Papar old road, 25 km from Kota Kinabalu. The park is fully developed by the Sabah Wildlife Department.
The botanical site gives visitors the chance to go jungle trekking along the botanical trail. This site is approximately 200 acres big. The aviary is a lively section where you will hear sounds of the mynahs, greeting visitors who come to the park. At the aviary, there are many species of birds like the hornbill, pigeons, parrots, eagles, egrets and many more.
The children's section of the zoo has pygmy elephants, ponies and goats. Children can enjoy elephant rides daily from 10.30am and 3.30pm, each an hour long.
Transport - The journey to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park takes 30-60 minute drive from Kota Kinabalu. For transportation, visitors can either drive or take a taxi from the city centre.
